Eloquent words not fitting for a fool
Foolish eyes scale the earth
Eloquent words not fitting for a fool
Foolish eyes scale the earth
Wise words run deep
Wise words run deep
Like water
Wallaman Falls, Mossman Gorge, Alligator Creek
Eloquent words not fitting for a fool
Foolish eyes scale the earth
Eloquent words not fitting for a fool
Foolish eyes scale the earth
The right to say no
The right to say I don’t want your lovin’
I can turn my hearts attention to someone else
The right to say no
The right to say I don’t want your lovin’
I can turn my hearts attention to someone else
Or something else
Or somewhere else

Apples
03:57
|

Summer slips away
Like a patient on death row
And your eyes will turn to blue
In the reflection of the moon and I'm
Sorry I'm not with you
Even though I'm lying in your arms
If Option A is B
And Option B is hold me close
And if Option C is B
I guess I'm left here to make up my mind
I'm sorry I won't look you in the eye
Chorus
Ooh, I'm coming home for the weekend
Ooh, not to stay
Ooh, we built this bridge as big as Brooklyn
Ooh, it's gonna burn, tonight
Once upon a time
This nightmare was an aspiration
And I recall the days
When I could run away if I wanted
Now life is gonna feed me to the wolves

Honey would you like to know
Why I'm breaking my back just to be with you tonight
Gonna t-t-t-take it slow
It was a piece of cake to make you mine
But it was hard to make you stay
So crazy how that dream came true
Now you need me for than I need you
In ten minutes you'll turn twenty-two
But it's apparent you're unhappy
It's apparent you're unhappy
If you let me take your hand
I can show you how to feel
Cause I can tell when you're unhappy
It's apparent to me
On the plane and into the sky
You've been getting way too high
Let's pretend like we see eye to eye
Now you're pushing me away
Your mind's a mess, hey it's OK
Cause half the time I feel the same
And I can tell when you're unhappy
Father, what have I become
A candle burnin', wax drippin' son
Hiding cause I don't know how to run
Father, what have I become
Father, what have I become
A candle burnin', wax drippin' son
Hiding cause I don't know how to run
Father, what have I become
Tell me what have I become, to you
Father, what have I become, to you
Always on another face
Always in another place
Only in it for the chase

Embers Burn
03:01
|
|||
I was lost in the snow, open sky, forest floor
I was caught in a stare, in this room, eye to eye
I was lost in the snow, open sky, let me in, let me in
Embers burn, we belong to the night
When the sky looks like that, you can see your silhouette
Ah my foes and oh my friends, you give me a lovely
A lovely light, a lovely light
Embers burn, we belong to the night
Everything old is new, hunt that bitch, shoot that moon
Cling to me for your life, let's make plans then get down
When they don't work out
They never work out
No, I never follow through
Embers burn, we belong to the night
When your blood runs cold, you'll belong to the night
To my friends and foes, we belong to the night
And to the one I love, you belong to the night

The Earth Resonates
04:33
|
|||
Now this is prophetic
Or are we looking for the answers?
Are we lost in the desert?
Are we seeing delusions?
Is the past holding on?
Is the future freaking you out?
Are the memories of your former life
Still haunting you at night?

Malleable
04:20
|
|||
Light the fire, watch the history
Disappear before your eyes
Hopin' for a change
Dark formations, eyes adjusting
Your new eyes will soon meet mine
Hopin' for a change
Never too late
Never too slow
Never too far
You and I are not so different
Darkness sings before the dawn
Too late to be sentimental
Those who wonder are not lost
Lines in the sand
Head in the clouds
Heart in the song
Lost in the woods
I'd rather be malleable
Than turn out like you
But where to begin
Which piece goes where?

Friendly Fish
03:36
|
|||
You should be more than happy, are you having me on?
I threw the ring you gave me in the bellberry pond
I'm sorry but should know I'm impulsive as hell
Would you be disappointed if I purposely fell? No?
Swimming in the ocean on a warm summer's night
We're choosing to be happy when there's nothing that's right
I met you and I now know what I'm waiting for
I hardly have a reason you're the one I adore. So...
Chorus
I'll be waiting by the phone
You'll be running down the hill
I'll be screaming out for help
You'll be cryin' to me, "Oh, I'm in so much pain"
Cause it hurts, it hurts, but it's changing my face and your molding me good
Oh, it hurts, it hurts when you hold me up high and you turn me round
You want just what you can't have, it's a game that you play
You find just what you're after, then you throw it away
If only I could travel back or just hit rewind
Honey are you changing or are you changing my mind? I dunno...
Gonna be more potential when you're fishin' on the reef
Perhaps you'll get a bite and then she'll kick you in the teeth
I only caught a catfish when I wanted a trout
I know you're disappointed, but there's no need to shout..
Chorus

The Great Divorce
04:12
|
|||
Bending in the air
Of course, there was a great divorce
A great divorce
The water creeping up our thighs
We’re in a sea, a sea of change
A sea of change
I can feel the ebb and flow
Of your hand, moving down my spine
Making it’s way on down
No-one’s got it all worked out, in the end
No-one’s got it all worked out
There was a valley deep and wide
And of course, there was a great divorce
A great divorce
Everything results in my age, I’m aware
Now I’m tied to a chair
Ooh, you’re hacking at my hair
Walk in to your house at night, I’m unsure
Is that a closing door?
I’ve never noticed it before
Feeling pretty miniscule tonight
No-one’s got it all worked out, in the end
No-one’s got it all worked out
No-one’s got it all, no-one’s got it all
No-one’s got it all worked out
You’ve given me this book to write my words in
When I turn the page, it turns so nicely
I pull my hair, you count to ten
We’re talking to ourselves again
We’re crazy
I think we’re crazy

Creation sings a melody from the depths of me
I’ll never comprehend just why
It was good idea to be in the war
I’m the only who’s still alive
And watch the history pass me by
I’m swimming with the great white sharks
And running with the bulls
I had a dream that you were like a child
And we were somewhere else
The moon goes up
The stars come out
And your senses come to life
Hope you find what you’re looking for
With your brand new woman at your mother’s door
I think it’s best for you to stay away
So we can live our lives
And have our hearts at bay
The lie was never safe, I caught you out
I didn’t speak to you for a month and a half
If you turn around then I’ll turn you into stone
So you need to walk away
And let the city burn

When the grass don’t grow in the muddy water
With an empty harvest and a sore gut
When the cold wind blows
When the cyclone blows
Through your home town
Don’t give it up x 8
I let the clouds part
To watch the sun shine through
The darkest sky I’d ever seen
And I let the clouds part
To watch the sun shine through
The darkest sky I’d ever seen
I’d ever seen, I’d ever seen, I’d ever seen

Here's, to another empty bottle in the bin
To a box of empty matches on the floor
To a messy house
And a pounding head
Here's, to a taxi full of people I just met
I think I love you now but someday I'll forget
Why the long face darling
Someday you will too
Chorus
You, are the apple of your husband's wandering eye
The epitome of rainclouds in the sky
And I know that someday
I'll be right there in your shoes
I, feel like you're the only one that understands
You watch me with your eyes
And never say a word
Then you go outside to lay under the sun
Chorus
